Arranging a cremation, or looking for information

If you need to arrange a cremation
Call Best Direct Cremation — 24 hours a day
Best Direct Cremation is the UK provider we recommend for 2026. A real member of their team — not a chatbot, not a switchboard — answers the line day or night, every day of the year. They will assign a vetted local independent funeral director close to where you are and walk you through what happens next.

Best Direct Cremation
Real person, every time
County Cremation does not run a call centre. When you dial this number you are connected directly to Best Direct Cremation, our recommended UK provider for 2026. The call is free of charge for the directory; standard call charges from your phone provider may apply.
What to have ready when you call
None of this is essential — call anyway and the team will walk you through it. But if you have any of the following to hand, it makes the first call quicker:
- The full name of the person who has died
- Their date of birth and last address
- Where they died — home, hospital, hospice, or care home
- Whether a doctor has verified the death and issued the Medical Certificate of Cause of Death
- Whether the coroner is involved (this is common; it is not a problem)
- The address where the next-of-kin can be reached
