How County Cremation handles personal data — under UK GDPR.
Last updated 20 May 2026
Who we are
County Cremation is operated by Global Digital Solutions Limited ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for any personal data collected through this site. You can contact us at help@countycremation.co.uk.
What we collect
We deliberately keep the data we collect to a minimum. Specifically:
- Phone calls. If you call the 24-hour line (0333 242 1405), the call is answered by our recommended partner Best Direct Cremation, which records call details (number, time, duration, and the substance of what was discussed) so the local funeral director assigned to you has the information they need. The partner's own privacy policy applies to that call.
- Email enquiries. If you email help@countycremation.co.uk, we retain the email and our reply for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for two further years for record-keeping, then delete it.
- Analytics. If you accept non-essential cookies on the consent banner, anonymised analytics data is collected (page views, country-level location, referring page). No personal identifiers are stored. See our cookies policy for detail.
We do not run advertising trackers, we do not sell data, and we do not share data with third parties for marketing.
Lawful basis
We rely on two UK GDPR lawful bases. (1) Legitimate interests for minimal analytics that help us improve the site. (2) Consent for any non-essential cookie, given through the consent banner — you can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser storage for www.countycremation.co.uk.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, to ask us to delete it, to restrict our processing of it, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, email help@countycremation.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (the ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint — though we'd appreciate the chance to put things right ourselves first.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — most often to reflect a new tool we've adopted or a piece of guidance from the ICO. Any change is shown by an updated "last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes (anything that meaningfully affects what data we collect or how we use it) are flagged in the cookie consent banner at the time of change.
